Our make and model are based upon availability. If available we will be happy to accommodate your preference.
How can I change or cancel my reservation?
You can call or use this web site to email us to change or cancel a reservation. Simply choose the ‘Contact Us’ section of our website.
What do I need to bring with me to rent a car?
All drivers of the vehicle will need to be present and provide a valid driver’s license and credit card in their own name. Drivers with an overseas license must provide their country license, international license and passport.
Can I use someone else's credit card?
For security purposes of the credit card holder all renters and additional drivers must have a credit card in their own name.
How do I extend my rental and will it change my rate?
To extend your rental, you must contact and inform us. There will be no change in rate.
What should I do if I have an accident or the vehicle breaks down?
(a) Notify Auz Rental Cars Pty Ltd of the full circumstances as soon as practical;
(b) Notify the Australian Police if the accident involves injury;
(c) Record full details of all parties, witnesses to and vehicles involved in the accident;
(d) If possible, prepare a written statement of the facts signed by all parties. If agreement cannot be reached, obtain a copy of the Police report.

Can I rent a car with an International driver’s license?
If you have a valid International Driver’s License or a License which is in English then you are able to drive in Australia. You are unable to drive in Australia if your Driver’s license is in another language other than English. Your international driver’s license must include a photo of yourself and you will be required to present your passport with your license.
Can I take out Excess Reduction at the time of rental?
Yes. If you have declined Excess Reduction at the time of your reservation, and you change your mind, you are able to take out Excess Reduction at the time of rental. Please notify us, when you pick up the vehicle.
How old do you have to be to rent a car?
Auz Rental Cars Pty Ltd require drivers to be at least 21 years old and have full driver’s license.
Is there an additional charge if there will be more than one driver?
There are no surcharges for additional drivers
What is Excess Reduction?
Excess Reduction is not an insurance but optional coverage which for a small fee reduces your financial liability to a small, manageable amount in the event of an accident.
From the time you (or your nominated driver in the rental agreement) take charge of a rental vehicle, you are financially responsible for any loss or damage to the vehicle or any loss or damage to third party property as a result of using the vehicle.
The renter’s responsibility also includes damage caused by acts of nature such as hailstorms or falling trees.
Provided you comply with the terms and conditions of the Auz Rental Cars Pty Ltd agreement, Excess Reduction ensures that for any particular loss or damage to the vehicle or third party property you will not have a liability greater than the reduced excess even if the damage was caused by your mistake.
There are exempted events which Excess Reduction will not cover and you must take total financial responsibility.
What if I decline Excess Reduction?
If you choose not to purchase Excess Reduction then you will be liable for the full cost of the excess that is applicable on your rental.
What refueling options do I have?
The vehicle will be provided with full tank and you must bring the vehicle back full to avoid any refueling and additional charges. If the vehicle is returned without full tank, there will be an additional charge of $30.00, in addition to refuel charge.
Why do rental car companies ask for a credit card?
Rental companies need to know that their renters are credit-worthy, to minimize vehicle damage and losses. Credit cards and valid drivers’ licenses usually provide the only information we have about our renters.
Can I use a credit card up front and then pay for the rental with cash when I return the car?
Although you present a major credit card at the time of rental, when you return the vehicle, you will be asked if you’d like to keep the rental charges on that credit card or pay cash. Since car rental companies ask for credit approval on the estimated car rental charges when you pick up the car, that amount will be held against your credit balance on that card for up to 14 days, regardless of how you pay upon return.
What credit card can I use?
Most major credit cards are accepted. A processing fee of 3% applies.
Can I use a debit card?
You may be able to use a MasterCard or Visa debit card. If you are planning to use a debit card please contact us directly to confirm if it will be accepted.
How accurate is GPS?
Today’s GPS units are extremely accurate, thanks to their high- sensitivity receivers. However, certain atmospheric factors, including severe weather and other sources of error, can affect the accuracy of GPS receivers.
How easy-to-use is the GPS system? I’m not a very technical person.
Not to worry – the GPS system is designed for simplicity. It’s small and portable and is simple to operate.
